2001 rx 300 problems!
I have a 2001 rx300 and im losing my mind on this damn car. any help with it would be very helpful
here is the problems!!!
Power locks dont work unless the car is started or the key is in the on position. If i open the door with the key in my hand the locks don't work.
The radio just randomly stopped working with the key in the on position but works fine when the car is running. The Dome Light, The Heat/Air, The key light ring also now do this randomly.
There is something draining the battery, i have to charge it ever three or four days.
All of these issues started when the shop put in a new driverside door master lock switch. When i brought it back to them, they stated i have a drain on my IOD fuse that states short on it. When i looked this up, it says it for memory of the radio. Where do i go from here ????

Well, first of all, welcome to the club!
I would be suspect of the battery, as it could be the cause of the electrical hiccups. Any water damage history to the car? Flooding, etc?
Have the battery load tested at Auto Zone, O'Reilly or where ever , and see how it is. If it's more than 4 years old, that may be the issue at hand...

not in the battery. The battery is a new interstate battery and was already tested just in case a faulty part. The alternator is charging at 14.2 volts.
original owner and no water damage. I have been searching all over the net and found these cars are a electrical nightmare.

Electrical problems in Lexus can be traced to improper repair or an aftermarket accessory. And then there is finger pointing.
That said, it does not mean there are no gremlins in the software/ecu. In the 15years of ownership I had to reset the ecu only couple of times to clear them out.
