Default Throttle cable stop bushing?

Does anyone know the part number for these things? Do they make after"urethane" ones because the rubber one on mine keeps sliding over the cam pulley causing the engine to rev at 3 grand until I pop the hood and slide it back.

Also, do I need to remove the throttle cable to replace the bushing?

Thanks, Chet

"Bushing"???

There a is rubber boot to prevent dust/grime to enter the end.

How about posting a photo or even point us to an existing photo in any thread.

My apologies for using the wrong term to describe the offending part. If this "Dust boot" is just keeping things clean can it be removed instead of replaced?

I doubt anything too bad would happen with it removed.

Post 17 has a good picture.

You can see the boot has fallen off the tip.

Is that boot causing you a problem? Why cant you simply put it back? A very small amount of silicone glue can help it stay in place.

You can cut it iff, but you might have to replace the whole cable if you want to have it put on later. There might be a tool to stretch the boot to go over the end slug, but where would you find the replacement boot.

Is it essential, clearly not, but it does keep the cable clean.
