cats ?
Thanks shumif1,
I have a slightly different symptom. When in Drive or Neutral it idles at 700 rpm very smooth and quiet. If I put it into gear the rpms drop to 600 and I get a vibration that I can feel in the floor board. The odd thing is that I can balance a nickel on its edge on the engine cover and it won't fall over so I'm thinking the vibration is acoustic rather than mechanical.
Since you used past tense in your previous post does that mean you no longer have the car?

Baetke, i have a 2001 RX300 now but i had a 99 with the same symptoms. It only happens at 750 rpms, if the idle drops or raises it goes away. I am realy starting to think my exhaust is clogged somewhere but i think the 02 sensor would throw a code.

DMPesso... i had a 99 RX300 with the same isues and changed all the motor mounts but had the same vibration. i did change the front mm on my 01 and the vacume module on it but still the same.
I had that bass and humming sound for a while in my 01 RX . Over the weekend the rear o2 sensor blew out of the pipe. The 2 nuts holding it must have rotted away. I replaced the nuts but while I was under there I also discovered a small leak by the bracket on the pipe just forward of the sensor. Did not fix that yet but humming went away. I would focus on that area for your noise.
