Default preferred oem tires for 2003 rx300...

i've pretty made up my mind on getting a 2003 blue vapor metallic rx300 fully loaded with navigation.

on the dealer lot...i noticed 2 or maybe even 3 brands of oem tires for the rx300. is there a preferred tire brand for the rx300? in terms of ride quality and performance.

my dealer says they can put on whichever ones i want. since i'm not familiar with any of them...any advice would appreciated. thanks.

What are your choices? The Goodyear Integrity's seem to be the least favorite.

not sure of my choices. but just by glancing at the ones on the dealer lot. it looked like they had bridgestone duelers, goodyear integritys, and something else that was unreadable. so no idea what they were.

The other ones were probably Toyo tires. Lexus seems to stick with Bridgestone, Toyo, Goodyear and Michelin. Out of those, Bridgestone and Michelin probably make the best tire, but I'll check out the reviews and post back for you.

Okay here's the link to the tire comparison:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compar...R6LARAWPOWL_=4

This has the Integritys, two types of Duelers and the Michelin LTX M/S. The Integritys pretty much suck, the Duelers are better, but my personal pick is the Michelin LTX, I have them on my Explorer and they're great great tires, last forever too, quiet and smooth. I doubt Lexus would spring for them though.

But they're original equipment on the Kia SUV

thanks for looking up that stuff for me. i did some research on this site and it seems many people recommend the michelin cross terrains.

i'm just hoping at this point to pick the best oem tires for the rx300. looks like the bridgestone duelers are better than the goodyear infinitys.

I know on the ES there's a choice of two, Bridgestone Potenzas (totally crap) and Michelin Energy MXV4s. The Michelins are a much better tire, although not as good as the Bridgestone Turanza LS-H I plan to put on it when I get it, be it ES or CPO LS.

Thumbs up

Wow! Am i ever happy to see the test results on the Michelin's, since there is a brand new set on my 2000 RX300 which we purchased 2 weeks ago. I was gonna try to yet the delaer to take them back, cause I am not a big fan of Michelin, but that may be based on our experiences with a couple of sets of MX4's on her 91 Celica - replacing those with a set of Toyo Proxes was the best thing she ever did for that car! So far I have no complaints about the LTX's, but haven't tried them in the snow yet.

By the way, every one is talking about the Cross terain? what is the diff between those & the LTX's?

I went with the Michelin CrossTerrains, and they have held up a lot better on my RX, and the Duelers on my friend's Grand Cherokee, and this in Mexico off all places.

You wont be dissapointed in the Michelins, they're the best light truck tire on the market.

Rare the RX came with them though, lucky you!

Talking

I haven't seen the wet or dry rating for the Micheliln CrossTerrains or the Bridgestone Dueler H/L's. I am partial to Michellin tires. I just hope the CrossTerrain's or the Dueler H/L's are as smooth as the Goodyear Integrity's are. The Goodyear Integrity's are murder on wet pavement and I need to get rid of them.
Any response is appreciated.
