Also, like i said before, I shopped for Lowenhart LD-1s and they were so expensive i couldnt believe it.
18s 3 pc were: $857/pc, 2pc: $714, 1pc: $514. And tires were $228/pc. These prices are more than a little out of my range and the 1pc ones are so ugly. I saw them in person, and i have to say that the 3pc LD-1s are by far the best wheels i ever seen!! They have other newer ones, but i just cant quite swallow the U.S$3771 price for a set of 18s. I think i will still strive for a 19s package, so it will be close to $4000 if i went for Lowenhart.







But then i went shopping at another "cheaper" place other than the above mentioned Autobacs. I was shocked at how cheap they were. They have the same pirelli scorpion tires but at $60 cheaper and they had something that looked like this:



but not nearly as nice and they are made in Taiwan. But they are $190 for the 18" one. They current owner is looking for a 19" version and they do have the scorpions in 255/50/19!! Which is perfect for me=). I dont think i ever recall tirerack having that size in the states. So if i go for these made in taiwan wheels I will spend a total of about $1800 for 19s..........which is atleast half of what i will spend for any Lowenharts.

Now im at major decision time, i want to save money but i also love the harts. So i have the owner of the shop look for any LD-1 look-alikes for me. He will call me on monday and i will post any further results. But i also love my stock ride and handling, dont know if i want to mess that up just yet....................but i love big wheels.......................decisions, decisions.......................

Also all of the above wheels i mentioned WILL fit the RX300.

HUH??!! $1800 for 19s for EVERYTHING including tires is too expensive?? Ok, i'll go back to the shop and bargain some more then. Yes, my RX and i are still in Taipei. I'll be here till after new years.

 

Personally I don't think that is too expensive.. Look at it this way, 4-19" tires sell for easily $200. each.. That's $800. for tires and then $250. a rim.... That's not bad at all....

 

oops.. 1800 is ok.. but I think the rimz don't cost that much in Taiwan cuz it is local-made. try this number 28381843 to check the price of lowenhart... I m not sure is it cheap but the ads said NT12000 for 17" LD-1 but not sure is it 1 pc or 3 pcs? good luck..

just called those guys and got thru, they have the same price as the other guys...................which means expensive!!! I'll go see them these days, and will let u know if they have those AMEs or not.
