Default Weapon R Coldair Box

I am looking for Weapon R Coldair Box for my 99 RX300, but according to their website, they only have it for 2000-UP? Is it better to go with just the Intake or with Coldair System?

Any help is appreciated!

Better gains with the box vs. just having the intake alone... Sheilds engine heat from the intake allowing only air from the cold source to reach the intake, thus making it cold air verses warm air. Colder air = more horsepower.

As for your question about the model year of your vehicle, I'd call and ask Leo at Weapon R if it will fit in your '99. Maybe someone else here knows if there's a reason the box won't work on a '99? I'm not sure....

If the WR box won't work though, it'd be pretty easy to get some sheet metal aluminum and build one that's just as nice (if not nicer) than the WR box... that is if you're the least bit handy, which I assume you are if you putting an intake yourself.... I would also think that if worse came to worse, you could also modfiy your stock air box to somehow accomodate your intake.

I can see that the Coldair box might not fit, but what about just the intake itself? Is Weapon R the only one that makes intake for the RX lines?

Thanks!

I've never heard of another intake for the RX, and if there was one, I'd think someone here would know about it. RMM was gonna make one for the RX too, but they abandoned that idea for some reason. WR is the only option... without a box though, it's just a warm air intake and my thought would be that you'd probably be better off with just a TRD or K&N filter than to run the intake without the box... that'd be colder air than the intake alone.

CK1_RX3,

Do you know what part number the K&N Filter is?

Thanks!

has anyone seen the universal ram air kit that weapon r makes. its on their website. the combination package is like $130 but if u click to order it, it takes u to a nother website, and there is only $85. has anyone seen this ram air kit, heard about it, or tried it, any good?

i feel spendin that money on a cold air box they make is jsut too much for me, esp my rx is leased. i try to buy all universal parts that can be taken out and put into another truck after my lease is up
