NEW LED Taillights installed :)
So after updating the headlights and fog lights I figured its time to upgrade the rear end (surprisingly at my wife's request!). My old taillights were the 98-00 red housing which really looks seriously outdated. So I picked up a rare set of LED taillights I've never seen before from Japan. Why Japan you ask? These lights in particular I could only find in Japan. I really wanted something that could pass as a OEM kinda look. The ones I picked up are meant to replicate the 06-07 LX470 taillights. I really hate LED taillights with red transparent lens where you can see everything inside like the spikey chrome housings (IMO they look as tacky as Altezza/euro style lights). Anyways enough of my blabbing, here are the photos.
The photos don't do it too much justice. It's hard to capture how the reflective lens looks in person. But definitely nicer in person. I couldn't be happier. Next it wood steering wheel, shift **** and maybe exhaust

Nice! but some one left the driver side door open,
If possible please add another picture with brake-lights On.
So what's the plan about number-plate lights?
And did you trip the tail light warning?
Lastly if you want other members to implement what you did, do add the product name and how it can be obtained.

An lastly I don't want anyone implementing nothing LOL. I'm a selfish ***** no biters allowed hahaha. JK. If anyone wants to know where I got it you can PM me and I can send you the link. They are a little on the expensive side for LED tails (just under $600 shipped). But I guess you gotta pay for uniqueness.

Looks awesome! I have been looking to upgrade mine. They do indeed look very outdated. And you won't be able to get a wood grain shift ****... Only on the 01-03 because ours has the different transmission modes (PRW, ECT, SNOW), and the 01-03 ones only have a SNOW button. So I think you are outta luck on that.

You know what? I was asking myself that same question. When I had everything wired up and installed the red section next to where the reverse was actually where the reverse light plug went which was really weird. And it's not like I plugged it backwards because the socket and bulb sizes were completely different. The inner lights on the OEM only have 2 bulbs (brake and reverse) but these LED ones had 3 socket holes so I was scratching my head for the longest time. The only thing that made sense to complete the splice the harness and reroute the reverse. But other than that the install was a piece of cake. Maybe in Japan they have a 3rd light on the inners, which would maybe explain why these are not sold here. Although I'm pretty sure even in Japan the OEM taillights are the same.

Look's great.
I can't wait to see what you do with the steering wheel. Because after 12 years, and 185k miles, my steering wheel is starting to get a ton of nicks, and the top part is starting to wear. I need to do something about it, before it get's any worse.

I had a great idea . I have a 96 Ls400 and aside from being an old car all the lights look ancient . after seeing a post about led light replacement I went light crazy .went on ebay and ordered head lights (clear)marker lights(clear) But the hardest part was the tail lights. Found a company that had led tail lights but with the red lens giving it an almost factory look . middle is clear . soon as every thing is installed we;ll upload a few pics
