Okay so the 2000 Rx has been shaking for several months now. For the longest time it would only do it randomly at idle. The RPM's would fluctuate and the car would shake pretty bad. I took this to be an issue with the IACV. I cleaned it last weekend and it was gummed up pretty bad. It was smooth as could be when I finished. I thought I had cured the problem but today after about 150 miles on it the car started shaking at idle again, and then for the first time ever it started shaking in motion.

If it was persistent I would think it would be a motor mount.

I need to verify this, but a few months ago one of the cam seals was replaced to fix an oil leak. It may or may not have done the shaking before the motor was tore apart to replace the cam seal.

Any help or ideas on what this could be are greatly appreciated.

Could this be a misfire issue due to a bad spark plug or coil?? i don't know if or when they have been done. The car does have a constant CEL, but that is for the o2 sensor post cat i believe. it could have tripped a new code. Maybe I should get a reader for it. mine only does ford, dodge, and chevy,. Or could it be related to the 02 sensor?? could the cat be clogged up? I don't know what to do next, I really hoped the IACV clean would cure it.

Misfiring due to a bad coil will usually give you a flashing CEL and it would be driving very rough.

got a p0125, p1130, p1135. looks like the bank 1 sensor 1 A/F sensor is the culprit. Also going to do new plugs all around. should have the car running great again

 

Pray tell, how did you come to that conclusion from those codes??? Unless you posted the #'s wrong, I don't see how those codes have anything to do with the B1S1 A/F sensor. Please explain how you came to that conclusion.

P0125 is "insufficient coolant temperaturte for closed loop fuel control".

P1330 is "Igniter circuit malfunction, #7.

P1335 is "CKP (crankshaft position or crank angle) sensor circuit malfunction during engine running."

None are remotely connected to B1S1 A/F ratio sensor.

 

There is no such thing as a code P1330 on a 2000 RX300. Your car only has 6 cylinders.

Ah.. heater control fault for the A/F sensor for both sensors at the same time, I would check the fuse and the relay for the A/F sensor heater first before changing the sensors themselves. the fuse and relay is located in the engine compartment with a label under the fuse box.

 

I realize the RX only has 6 cyl. but the code P1330 shows #7. It's probably yet another of the mistakes that I believe have come directly from Toyota.
I'm wondering how YOU got "heater control fault" for BOTH sensors from the P1130& P1135? Both of those #'s refer to the SAME sensor, B1S1, the rear sensor. That is a heater control fault and circuit range/ performance malfunction on the same sensor.
