Default How to copy the master key with the card key

I don't have the master key, but if I want to get a copy of the master key for my rx300, may I using the card key (emergency key)? and if yes, how to do it? should I simply buy a blank key from ebay?
How much a master key cost from dealer?

Sewell is great to work with for keys. They will cut one from your VIN.

They give a discount for members here too.

Thank you very much, the price seems much expensive than ebay, how much discount one can get with forum ID?

I don't think it was a ton, maybe 5%-10% off. Be a little cautious of ebay keys. I remember that some were Chinese knock offs that could not be cut because the metal was too hard. Don't know if it's still an issue now, but at least read the feedback to see if people are having problems with them.

Word is you cant but im thinking there are ways around it. Supposedly you have to have the master remote key to program new remote otherwise ECU has to be reprogrammed to accept new master...I got a quote from dealer of about $500. That was for two keys and programming. Different dealers may say different.

I did a full keyless entry bypass because all i had was the emergency key card... http://www.dealextreme.com/p/lexus-2...-remotes-16628 Be forewarned though that all these aftermarket key casings are junk and break relatively easy.

If you want to go cheap you can just buy solid non-remote keys, have them cut to your emergency key and tape/ziptie the card transponder chip to the ignition behind the panel... You could also have a cheap aftermarket keyless entry installed

today, I finally received the blank key from a ebayer, since I don't have the old master key (I only have the card key and one subkey). I don't know what I can do with this blank key...

Here update program key by the flat key (emergency key) with the card, actually my flat key can register as master key, so I was successfully program the key from ebay, which cost me 50

To clarify, the key blade is a passive device ... it has cuts and grooves and the difference between them can be the locks they operate ... glove-box/trunk (for RX it is some what a moot issue). I see it as valet or not the valet key.

Masterkey has more to do with the registration of the electronic-id between the the ecu and the key-remote. The ecu confirms the master-id check, before accepting changes.
