I have a 2000 RX300 with 105,000 miles.....I now hear 2 thumping sounds when applying my brakes.
Could this be that I need brake pads...last changed with brembo rotors & ceramic pads 38,000 miles ago?
Or could this be my ABS failing again the second time which was appx. 38,000 miles ago......left rear axle?
I found the root of the problem.
ABS sensor failure. Expensive job to fix!
ABS light is on now & I found out that when the ABS light is on the ABS is disconnected & will not work......the thumping sounds are all gone. So my question now is.....what if I drive just the way it is now with no ABS.

You probably won't notice a thing...at least I haven't even in wet weather or other area where ABS would come into play. The only thing that you will notice for sure is that ABS light on the dash (takes years as I understand for it to die out).

You have ABS the sensor is wear sensor it only tells you when new brakes are required.
