Hey guys....the truck has been doing some weird things lately...
First of all..it seems to shift without any grinding noise or anything..but the shifts are delayed...also the engine seems sluggish.... Then today twice doing 80km per hr, at 2,000rpms the car did some crazy *** jerking...took foot off pedal...went away and didn't come back... The shifts seem sluggish as well...... I just put the pwr button on the ect, and it seems to be shifting better.... I'm due for a pan drop etc.. Car has 250k kms. Ive out 35k on and never did any tranny work...but i got it..the PO did a drain and fill apparently... Fluid looked good...

Also to note..I have engine light on..p0446 and p0441 I believe.... Which I'm still tracking down.but believe it's Vsv on charcoal canister...having trouble finding part# for that replacement...

Any help greatly appreciated...

Cheers

250k kms, it seems you got enough on this tranny.

Why not submit a safety report as the first task.

Leines: If your RX is a 99 or 00, I have the p/n. Let me know.

Provided that your car is a 1999 or 2000, the p/n of the cannister-adjacent vacuum switching valve (VSV) is 90910-12267. Price at Lexus $175; at Toyota $115.

What Lexus dealer are you calling to get a price of $175? Man, we're not charging near enough. Haha. To the OP, try calling your local Lexus or Toyota dealer for a price.

I actually get a discount on parts at the Toyota dealer here as they are one of my customers.... But I might look online now cause I seen a few much cheaper but wasn't sure the part number...
Cheers

Toyota says that p/n for vsv is for a corolla. They will order it and try to install. But if it doesn't work I own the part. I've put my faith in this forum and ordered it. I'll let you know tomorrow if it works or not.

It's too late now but how did you figure out that p/n for the rx300 VSV??? Toyota just said it's $956 and gotta buy the whole charcoal setup so I'm
Hoping your right.

Thanks again

I went to my dealer and asked them to show me the entire cannister assembly for my 1999 RX. They had one and showed it to me; I copied the p/n off the VSV, much to their displeasure.

You are my hero,
I'm sure Toyota dealer was just being nice to me...but I wonder why they couldn't have read the part number off my car and looked it up then....interesting...
Either way if this comes thru tomorrow am and it fits like it should, I'll be forever grateful for this forum...
I told the girl just to order it because I figured this forum knows much much more about these cars then the Toyota mechanics,,,,,,,,,or even the Lexus ones I'd bet,,,
