Will installing aftermarket parts void my warranty?

The manufacturer must prove that the aftermarket parts directly caused the problem that is under warranty coverage in order to deny warranty work. They cannot void the whole warranty, nor deny warranty work on the radio for having an aftermarket intake. However, if your brake rotors warp and you have aftermarket pads, it's logical to assume that your warranty claim may be rejected. Fortunately, in the US, we have the Moss-Magnusson Warranty Act. The relevant passage is cited below. It basically says we can use non-OEM parts without warranty denial, unless the auto manufacturer offers the part for free.

The Moss-Magnusson Warranty Act protects US car owners in regards to denied warranty claims:

Moss-Magnusson Warranty Act
(15 U.S.C. 2302(C))

(c) Prohibition on conditions for written or implied warranty; waiver by Commission
No warrantor of a consumer product may condition his written or implied warranty of such product on the consumer's using, in connection with such product, any article or service (other than article or service provided without charge under the terms of the warranty) which is identified by brand, trade, or corporate name; except that the prohibition of this subsection may be waived by the Commission if -
(1) the warrantor satisfies the Commission that the warranted product will function properly only if the article or service so identified is used in connection with the warranted product, and

(2) the Commission finds that such a waiver is in the public interest. The Commission shall identify in the Federal Register, and permit public comment on, all applications for waiver of the prohibition of this subsection, and shall publish in the Federal Register its disposition of any such application, including the reasons therefore.

What is the break-in period for the RX 300?

According to Lexus, you need not follow a break-in schedule with your new Lexus. But following a few simple tips for the first 1000 miles can add to the future economy and long life of your vehicle.
•Do not drive over 55 MPH.
•Avoid over-revving. Maintain engine speed between 2000 and 4000 RPM.
•Avoid full-throttle starts.
•Try to avoid hard stops during the first 200 miles.
•Do not drive for a long time at any single speed, either fast or slow.
•Do not tow a trailer during the first 500 miles.

What are popular first modifications (mods)?

A popular modification is changing from the OEM Air Filter to a "High-Flow" filter from Toyota Racing Development(TRD) or K&N. Other modifications include changing out the OEM headlights for "Super White" or "Cool-Blue" headlamps...Or even an HID upgrade.

Many owners immediately upgrade wheels/tires or add larger subwoofer(s). Some performance-minded owners install aftermarket intakes and exhausts. Many modifications are simply cosmetic/aesthetic...including window tint (matching the front windows to the rear), complete interior wood kits, and exterior chrome parts/accessories.

It takes the dealer about 10-15 minutes to change any or all items.
1. Connect meter to DLC3 port
2. Turn on ignition
3. Go to "Customize" menu to make selections. Most dealers do not charge for this service.
..............................................

Attached: A list of genearl C-Best options for multiple Lexus vehicles. It doesn't list which options work for which vehicle. I believe all of them work for the LS and GS and most for the RX, but not all.

View in Notepad with "Word Wrap" turned off.

Are there any helpful lexus bookmarks available?

Here's a Zip file containing a file named lexbookmark.htm. Unzip the file to your HDD and double-click on it for a bunch of links that I've collected. You may already have these, but you may not.

What is a TSB and how do they affect my RX 300?

Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) are issued by vehicle manufacturers to help automotive technicians diagnose and repair problems reported by consumers and repair shops. It's amazing how many fixes are found in these bulletins that can't be found anywhere else. Thousands of bulletins are issued by car manufacturers every year.

TSBs contain up-to-date factory fixes for difficult to diagnose problems such as rough idles, intermittent stalls, hard starts, and all kinds of "shakes", "rattles" and "clunks" that can sometimes drive you nuts. TSBs describe service procedures that may improve performance, reduce future breakdowns, or show a factory authorized modification for your vehicle.

Can The RX CD Changer Play Burned CD's?

The RX's 6-disc CD changer will play music that is burned on as and audio-format CD-R. It will NOT play mp3's burned as data on CD-R. As for CD-RW, the changer will not play anything from a CD-RW disc.

This is a great idea Salim!

I have one brochure, which I attached.

I am also attaching the specifications sheet for 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 in case you want to archive that as well.

This website: http://www.toyotareference.com/lexusrx/1999-2003, has all of the brochures but unfortunately it is paid access (donation).
