Question Instrument Panel Lights

I just got my RX back from the dealer after they replaced the burned out "D" light in the instrument cluster, but now I notice that the lighting of the instrument panel no longer dims when I turn on the headlights. I've tried the dimmer ****, but no matter which way I turn it, the intensity of the lights stay the same. Is it possible the technician forgot to reconnect something when they put the cluster back in? Is this really a big deal, or should I stop worrying about it(I'm a fanatic when it comes to perfection)? Does anyone drive with their cluster lights at full intensity at night(dimmer **** turned past the detent until it clicks)?

I actually stopped worrying about anything on the instrument panel after the D went out. I found it completely annoying when driving at night. Also, I tend to use the lower gears on the steep hills down here, and I know that when nothing lights up, I am in D.
