Default Glove Box will not stay latched

My glove box will not stay latched. I will push it up and maybe, just maybe it will stick on the 5th try or more. Do I need to replace the latch? If so, anyone have a part #?

First empty out everything from the glove box and see if things improve. The trifold user manual at times is the cause of the problem.

I am away from my RX, but you may have to adjust the hook. Are you a DIYer. Else you will be paying some one for minor fix.

I have taken out the manual but what I think has happened is the weight, over time has caused this. And yes, I am a DIY'er up to the point of changing out the rear main seal

There should be a small plastic ring on the retaining loop that is attached to the dash. That plastic ring will tend to shift to the left or right. Slide the ring back to the center of the loop, and the door should latch correctly.

Will take a look tonight. Thanks. Now, anyone know how to remove the blower control module

Report back and let us know if that fixed your problem.

It did not. I saw the piece you were talking about but it was already in the middle. Played around with it some but still no avail.

This is the most common cause of the glove box not latching. Play around with it a little more but look and see if anything else is not lining up, damaged, or broken.

Love this group....replaced all the motors on the RX 300 doors...still working. And simple fix to remove the overloaded trifold binder from the glove box. Saving time and money as well as a pleased significant other.
