Default Water Pump

Has anyone replaced it on the RX yet? What was the cost a dealer/shop would charge to do it?

My friends just went out and she is tryin to decide on keeping the car or just trading it in "as is" to the dealer for the 330.

Thanks!!

I have replaced it on my DIL's RX but did it myself. A dealership price should run anywhere from $400.-$450. at a Toyota dealer to $550.-$650. at a Lexus dealership. Almost every place you take it is going to give you a different price, even Lexus dealers. If she has it done, I would suggest a Toyota dealer, they are as experienced or moreso than a Lexus dealer and almost certain to cost less.

Well, I guess it depends on whether she wants to keep the car for a while after she fixes it. She won't get what the car is worth either way if she trades it in but she should ask the delaer for a trade price with and without the water pump fix. If she decides to keep it, consider replacing all the other things in that region that go out with time (timing belt, tensioner, other drive belts, cam seals, etc).
