Default clear side markers

Are there any DOT approved clear side marker lights? My rear side marker bulbs are out so I might as well replace both the front and rear now. I've seen some clear ones on ebay and I was thinking of using amber (fr) and red(rr) lights. Where can I get (and what brands) good quality lights? From what I've read is that it depends on what state you are in and if you are willing to risk getting hassled about it.

Do you have it? How long? How are they holding up? Did the stock bulb socket fit without a problem? Would one for an IS300 work?

Thanks!

I have all 4 done, 2 i got from another member and 2 from ebay. They come with new bulbs. But i used led bulbs. They fit great but not perfect. (small gap). But i love the way they make the car look.

do u have some pictures you can post? How long have you had them? Are these the one that are clear in the middle where the bulb is? Or is it almost uniform across like the originals? See my bumpers are white so I really think the clear markers would definitely look good.

Thanks for the reply!

I have had them on for about 6mo. The front ones are like oem but the rear is more clear. My car is white too but I have the grey bumpers. I will take some pics tomorrow after i am done washing and doing the brakes.

Also they are a pain to install I had to almost take off the front and rear bumper.

so ur front ones are probably like these obx and are ur rears like the euro clears (see attached pics)? I actually like the obx since you can't see the bulb. But the seller on ebay says they won't work on the back. So its only available for the front. Unless he is mistaken, so 2000Lex did u (or anyone) notice if the front and rears are interchangable, I would think the LF would fit on the RR and the RF would go on the LR. Am I making sense? If it won't then I'm forced to go with the euro clears. what do u guys think about these? Are they really the "new" thing now? Or I can keep my red rear markers and go with just the front clear obx's. But I'd really like to go clear all around so it'll blend in better with the white bumpers.

2000Lex, have ur bumpers painted white! They look sweet! That's what got me sold on my coach ed. Then switch out the grill too like robertrios!

2000Lex, I think my eyes are bad. I can't tell the diff between the frt and the rear. If its not too much to ask can you please take close up pics straight on? So r they any of the ones I posted?

Robert, 2000Lex which one do you like? The OBX or euro clears?

Thanks!

Robert n all,
I think I'm going to try out the euro clears since I can't get OBX for the rear anyway. I'll post pics before and after. I saw a new BMW today and checked out the euro clear side markers which gave me an idea. The bulbs had a silver coat/paint on the side that faces out. So like half of the bulb facing out. This made the orange bulb not so obvious. It lessens the egg yolk effect a bit. I think I'll try that. I guess I'll get some silver spray paint. I also saw some silver bulbs that light up orange or red but they're pricey.

So is ebay the only option these days? Has anyone seen these elsewhere?
