Yikes. I wouldn’t think a knock sensor code is related to a vacuum leak.
Does the car sound like there is knock, like popcorn popping when you step on the gas?
If not then its the sensor itself thats bad.
I heard just today 1x a little knock leaving a red light.
What the pisser is that just last summer, I had my local service garage do my plugs and coil packs. Wish I would of known about the freaking knock sensors.
Quote: I got my cousin's Actron CP9180 and got some screen captures which is pretty much greek to me because I am not a mechanic.
What’s was different between the freeze frame pics / what code(s) were thrown for the two sets of pics? In the first set it looks like the p0330 code threw while driving, the second set looks like it was at idle but I don’t see the code that threw first.
In the first set fuel trims look fine - all close to zero. In the other your long-term fuel trims are high-ish (too much air) depending on drive conditions at the time. Those LTFT values are about what I was getting before I replaced the hose from the vac surge tank.
If it were me, I think I would want to see the knock sensor code as the primary code again before going through the $$/hassle of replacing. Maybe it already has shown up again as the first code. Whichever code keeps showing up first based on the freeze frame would be my first target.
At the same time - $720 to replace the knock sensors - verify if it’s one or both, might as well do both, and possible the harness - is a good price, I think Lexus quoted me some $1,200+.

I think the 2nd set of pics was before it threw the P0330 code viewing real-time data. It's throwing the P0330 about 10-12 minutes into any drive.
The 1st set of pics was under the FREEZE frame.
$720 is for both knock sensors and harness. Service Advisor was looking for a 2nd harness and said he had to get it from a dealer and I shot him a screen print of Salim's post that its one harness.

Repair shop is correct but if they know this why did they not use OEM parts in the first place?
IDK ... sounds like there were not aware until after the fact. I will inquire tomorrow when I pick it up.
Me personally, I was not aware ... I should of asked beforehand in this forum so its on me as well.
Side note ... approx 2yrs ago, had the repair shop did my plugs, coil packs and valve cover gaskets. Wish I was informed about the knock sensors as that would be the perfect time to replace them. Moving FWD ... I will be asking and verifying before future repairs.
I have learned a ton by being a member ... many thanks!

Did anyone suggest a filler cap i know it sounds mental but heard it suggested. My lights been going on for years i changed sensors more than once and coils. I have had the filler cap suggested a few times but mine does suck in a lot of air when opening it up to fill it so not my problem but if it isn't sucking in air when you open it it may not be making a seal.
11105432[/url]]Update ... my local repair shop replaced both sensors and wiring harness and they just called and CEL P0330 came back on again?
Anyone have an ideas on why P0330 coming back on again?
Should a hard reset of the ECU be done ... disconnecting battery and have it relearn itself?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Isn’t it also possible that the knock sensors weren’t faulty to begin with, and instead you were/are getting p0330 b/c the knock is more than the system can adjust for?
