Post Loss of clock memory

I wish everyone a happy new year.
Each time I start my engine the clock resets to 1oam. When ignition is at on position before crank, the clock displays the last set and correct time but resets once cranked.
My battery is in good state and I have no reason to doubt its functionality. Can anyone help me with a solution to this problem.

It's either the battery or battery connections.

Your clock is very sensitive and is the first indication that your battery is failing. Change the battery and your problem will be gone.

The other way this can happen is if the vehicle has been sitting for a while, like a week or more without use, and then the 1:00 a.m. will show up, but otherwise this is the battery on the way out (happened to me many years ago).

Thanks all, I will give it a trial and revert. However I use the car everyday so this rules out the other possibility in Lexmex's post.

I had the same issues, and could not believe it was the battery since the engine starter was strong and there was no (other) evidence of a weak battery. But I finally gave in to changing the battery and all is well. Yes: when the clock resets to 1:00 am it is the first sign of a deteriorated battery.

Happened to me, and I was using the car every day to get to and from the train station. The problem was the short station trip was insufficient to recharge the battery. I started noticing the clock reset. In my case just periodically charging the battery fully resolved the problem.

So today my wife tells me that the clock has been resetting to 1:00 every time she starts for a week or so. Battery is only 2 1/2 years old, so I take a quick peek under the hood and the terminals don't look corroded or anything, so I figure I will just run to Walmart (It's one of their batteries) and get it tested and probably replace it. The guy at Walmart goes to hook up the tester and the cable on the negative terminal just pulls right off. The nut was backed out so far it almost fell off. I'm thinking that I have never seen that happen before. It should have been on there snug and never gotten that loose. Then I remember that I had the car at the dealer a month or so ago to have the air mix servo replaced. Akron Lexus has to be the most incompetent dealer I have ever encountered. I'm almost glad that my warranty is expired so I never have to take it back there. Now I just have to disassemble the glove box and put it back together so it stops binding and squeaking. Asshats!

You know we really need a thread for rating dealers. Some are very good and some just suck a$$. What's funny is there is another dealer 45 minutes further away from me that is supposed to be owned by the same company that is top notch. One is managed poorly the other is great.

How about a Lexus/Toyota/Independent thread where we get to let everyone know who to go to and who to avoid?
