I tried to start my LS tonight and the battery is dead. The entire battery feels very hot and it has swollen up alot. It's been sitting outside for at least an hour and it's still very hot.

I disconnected it because I was worried about an electrical short or something. Now that I see the battery is not cooling down sitting outside, what the heck should I do? I'm getting worried about even going near the dang thing.

I am guessing it's just a bad battery but don't wanna touch the stupid thing. At least it's outta the car.

the plates are touching inside of it..get rid of it and get a new one

I left it sit outside all night. Finally cooled down. I'm getting a new one today.

have ur charging system checked..thats a dangerous situation btw

Put an optima red top in and had everything checked. All is good. Found the date on the old ACDelco battery. 5 years is about all I can expect from a battery. So glad is was not another electric problem. I thought that battery was gonna blow. It took about 5 hours to finally cool down.
