I didn't know if this was true or not. I was told my a friend of mine that is a toyota service advisor, that if for some reason my engine would lock up or sufer significant damage from sludge, that I could get the engine replaced and paid for be my car insurance company as long as I full coverage (which I do), and all I would have to pay is my $250 deduct. Has anyone else heard this or can confirm this?
thanks
You say this guy is a Toyota service adviser? Maybe he's been off his med's for a while and is delusional. He needs to get back on 'em right away! Tell your insurance agent that one- I'll bet he needs a good belly laugh.

Scary that people like this tell us what needs to be done to our cars!
If you didn't already, NOW you know! Having worked in dealerships for many many years, I can tell you for a fact it's true. With no disrespect to those that are truly knowledgeable service writers... c'mon fella's, these are salesmen, they may have been working at JC Penny last month selling suits. They don't need to know anything about a car all they need to be able to do is sell that service to the bottom line, and since a lot of people don't know anything about a car, that should be an easy job for a BS'r.
