Default Cheap OBDII reader @ Costco

Costco just started selling an interesting looking little code reader. It's only $35. and has the Costco lifetime warranty. Any thoughts?

Is this at your local store? I just pasted it into their website and came up 'no joy'.

I will buy it next time a CEL comes up. California's auto parts stores have stopped the free loaner practice due to emission law requirement, so this is a good find if all it read and erase codes reliably.

Glad to see Costco selling something like this, will hold the other sellers feet to the fire. But... if you know Costco, they may have got a good deal on a couple semi's of these and distributed to all their stores, 2 weeks from now there will be none in sight, never to be seen again. If you actually want one, I would buy it while you see 'em.

I'll have to stop by the Costco near me to see if they are in.

I saw this on Amazon this morning, http://www.amazon.com/C100-Check-Eng...907953&sr=8-10

but it only says 5 new right now. They have a few others I saw for a good price.

I am taking a good look on ebay, because often times they have scanners that read live data and have the new CAN protocol for newer vehicles and they go for under $100. That would be invaluable for reading A/F sensor readings and other important live data like coolant temperature, etc.

I have had some trouble lately with my Actron pocket scanner acting up. Happens not just in my RX300, but also my girlfriend's Expedition and several neighbors' vehicles, and it won't pick up anything. I have heard of other scanners having this issue after time, not just Actron, and a friendly mechanic nearby recommended I get one that uses a battery as a backup.

On an interesting note, I've actually got a bet with my girlfriend that if I don't talk about cars to her for 2 days straight, she'll get me such a scanner as I mentioned. It's been tough and the bet has been running a month already.

I couldn't resist the low price, I just picked one up. It looks like it does everything, OBDII and CAN, reads mutiple codes, reads pending codes and even puts a pd after them so you know they are pending, displays explanation of code along with code, you can selectively delete codes.

I have been playing around with mine. I left the gas cap loose to create a code. It read the code along with the pending codes, plus displaying explanation of the code, and erased them just fine.
