Default White Coach Edition

I'm ready to buy a new RX with NAV. I don't want to wait for the 2004 RX ( I almost never buy a car/suv in its first year because of possible quality problems ) so I want a 2002 RX. I just heard about the RX "Coach Edition". What I really like about it is the perforated ivory leather seats which I think should be standard
in the "regular" RXs. All white body and cladding also sounds cool to me. I plan to visit a few Lexus dealers in my area ( ny-nj ) and look into the availability & pricing of the white coach edition RX.

BklynLexRX I'm with you...I don't want to wait until 2004. I like the looks of the new coach edition from the lexus website. Let me know if you find any info on availablity and pricing. I'm going to give my salesman a call and see if I can find out any info. I'll let you know what he says. Why do you like perforated seats? Are they better than the standard leather? Thanks.

Perforated seats allow ventilation ( making them cooler on hot summer days ) and are generally more comfortable. They are standard on the Acura MDX as well as the Acura TL S-Type. Some people say that they don't wear as well as standard leather but I know someone with a 4 year old car with perforated leather seats and they still look good. No news on prices or availability yet.

I talked with my salesman today and he said they would have the new coach edition mid to late April.

Yes, all white will be available ( as well as gold & gray ) in
the coach edition. I think all other Lexus models come in mono-tone ( the standard RX is the only model with 2 tone paint ).
The Acura MDX is also mono-tone. I like the grille from the coach
edition, just like the Silversport RX.

Mid to late April, Well I can wait, only 3 weeks. The current
RX is too good to ignore and the coach edition just seals the deal for me. I don't want to wait for the 04 RX.

That was so retarded how they weren't putting HID's on the Silversports... you'd think 90% of people who would buy a Silversport, would want HID's. Most people I've talked to said that either they tried to get the SS w/ HID's and couldn't so they didn't, or they got it and were unhappy that they didn't have them.

There is one Lexus dealership in Atlanta that is terrible, when the SS came out last summer and was featured on the web site I asked them about it when I stopped in the showroom, and they had no idea what I was talking about and were basically saying "Sorry, we don't know what that is. Don't waste our time." Then they had some in stock a few weeks later and had no idea what options were on them, we had to look through the inventory to verify that none had HID. Finally bought a non-SS from another dealership so I could have options I wanted.

Hopefully, getting a Coach won't be so much of a hassle. Maybe they'll have HID, the last Coach ES300 did. Important to me, with all the night driving I do.
