Default Help: Loud idle while stopped in "D"

I just purchased my RX300 few weeks ago, and just dealing with small kins here and there.

Well this one got me confused, as it sounds as amplifier noise but I can definately feel the vibration through the steering wheel and the seat. This only happens when I'm at the red-light, somewhat of a hollow/vibrating sound. As soon as I start driving and rpm goes above 750 or so, the noise stops

any idea???

ps. the car is idling fine, no bogging down, no rmp needle jumps

So, is it a noise through the audio system or a resonance in the structure of the car? If it's the latter, the idle may be too low or you may have a bad engine mount. other possible causes are an out of balance fan, broken fan blade......... (I've had both which caused vibration at idle).

What is the idle rpm?

Also have the OBDII codes read. Just in case there is a pending code and to make sure that the Check engine light has not been disabled.

I strongly believe that the sounds is the resonance in the car structure, through vibration of some sort.

Seems within tolerance but a tad bit low. I idle without A/C around the 2nd mark [3rd mark is 1000] so I am at about 670 rpm. See if you can maintain idle around the 2nd mark with gentle foot on throttle and note if the problem goes away.

Lets check the other things and we may need IACV and MAF cleanup. [search]

Does the vibration get less if you turn the A/C in (this usually increases rpm a little)?

Doesn't help

Plus tried to keep the rpm higher with throttle, only works above 1000rpm

Well, I'd take it in to the dealer and have them check it out.

As a rule, they are pretty bulletproof but you may just have a bad one.
