Default Back up Camera

Has anyone tried to install a back up camera on our Gen 1 RX's? I'm interested in this: http://www.boyovta.com/products/lice...ra/vtl300.html and according to Crutchfield, this gets connected into your in dash screen via RCA plug, and also connect to your "reverse" wire.

Just wanted to see if anybody has tried this on the OEM screen w/ navigation.

Wow! So you just can't hook it up direct? So our Nav screens are RGB?

HY!

yes, the naviscreen is rgb, we install converters in IS300 Navis for DVD players, no problem. I think, the RX is the same technologie. Only, we need the wiring diagramm for the navi unit and DVD-Reader to connect.

Blueridge, If you want you could use rear view mirror as a display. See links:http://www.mitocorp.com/auto-dimming...a-display.html

Blueridge, you may be happy with something that small (even as handy as it is), but I had a back-up system on my F-150 that I bought at Costco
a couple of years ago. It used a 2.4 screen and when the camera developed condensation problems inside the lens overnight (would clear up in the daytime), I just took it off, because i didn't like the small screen. I have since installed a wireless with a 7in. monitor and love it. You can actually see something in it!

Nice! Thanks Code58. Yeah, seems like more trouble than it's worth hooking up to the nav screen.
