Thumbs up new owner!

I am a new Lexus RX owner of a Vapor Blue beauty (Just like Andye39s in the earlier thread)! Thanks to everyone on this post for helping me make my decision. I was reading this post for the past 2 weeks and finally bought my RXster yesterday.

I want to jazz up the RX and I am starting with wheels. I was thinking about 18" or 20" chrome wheels. Any suggestions? Do you guys think the 20" are too much? Also, I was told that I should use '255 55 r18' tires if I buy 18" rims, but what size tire should I use for 20" rims?

Lastly, I don't want to use spacers, will the wheels still look kinda recessed like they do with the factory rims? Thanks!

Congratulations on your RX!!

The only thing I can specifically address is your last question. If you don't want to use spacers, then you are stuck with the stock wheel (and can only upsize the tire to a 235 at that) size due to clearance problems with the rear strut. So, it's spacers or 16s, take your pick.

Thanks for the info. Hhmmm. Can the spacers contribute to any long term damage? I called TireRack.com and they told me that I could upsize to a larger rim, but they did not mention spacers. Are spacers common? Thanks.
