Default Debating on replacing rims...Hmm

I wanted to get your guys feedback. I currently have some 20" Enkei chrome rims with spacers. I haven't weighed them but the rims + spacers are probably about 28-30lbs, maybe more. I really like the look, recently bought new tires, and only had them installed for a couple months, so that's why I'm not sure about switching them. Since I'm doing a lot of other performance mods, I was considering swapping them for a light alternative (without spacers)

I'd like 18" to keep the weight down (under 25lbs, the lighter the better). And to get something inexpensive (under $1k for all 4) (as far as color, im not sure; black, gold, silver,or a gray/graphite)

My wheels and spacers are currently up for sale if anyone is interested.
Wheels:

Spacers:

What do you think I should do?
Are there other websites that show rim weights?

My rims now:

i stayed with 18 bacause, i didn't want to go through alignment problems. 19" look good, 18" ok, if you go with new rims you can get the right offset you want and not need any adapters nice.

It depends on what your purpose behind "keeping the weight down" is. My guess is that reducing the wheel weight won't gain enough to measurably affect the performance when you consider that the car is already in the 4000 lb range. Even if you reduced the wheel weight down to 0 from 30 lb (obviously impossible), you'd only knock 3% off the total vehicle weight.

Yea, it'd be solely for performance, although, dont get me wrong, I dont want to have some ugly rims (thats why I ditched the pie plates) haha I read a few people on here that reduced the weight and noticed a big difference in handling. I believe a 40 lb weight lose in wheels is different than a 40 lb weight lose inside the car (pretend I remove the passenger seat). It uses less force to spin the tires if they are lighter.

Personally, I'd stick with what you have. Or sell them and pick up a used set of forged aluminum 20s. What you lose in wheel weight, you're going to gain some of that back in tire weight with larger profile tires. So I'd be surprised if you notice much if any performance gain over light-weight 20s. Also, 20s look much better in my opinion.

Edit: One other thing, you'll get better handling with 20s and low profile tires. With 18s, you'll have more sidewall, which gives a little more sway.

18", under 25# and under $1000

check out these wheels, weights are shown and the offsets seem perfect.

I'd stick with what you have, BUT if you MUST do it, I would get the 18" g-spider wheels for sure with a black car! Would look awesome. I think you can get right at $1k.

Yea, I agree 20s do look better. The problem is finding an inexpensive light weight one. Forged are the best and they're prices show it lol

wow, great website. thanks! I see several that I like and they are really cheap. I just wish they showed the weights of each rim. I'll email them about it

EDIT: The Motegi SP10's are only 19lbs, the Drag DR-42s are only 18.3lbs. Man, that's pretty light.

So, if I sell my chromes, I think I'm leaning more towards gray/charcoal than other colors. My girlfriend likes the chromes, I agree that they look really nice (nicer than these), I just want the most 'zippy' performance I can get.

If anyone is interested, I may have my chromes up for sale soon lol im still debating

^^ Yet they have free shipping on all wheels. Just beware the part when they said it will not fit the SC430. They said the Tenzo Typw M 18x8 with 25mm offset doesn't fit the SC. Well, its like added a 20mm spacer on our factory wheel unless they refer to conflict with the caliper.

Calculate the fitment yourself.
