Help!!
i went to test drive a 1999 lexus RX300 today and there were a lot of noises coming from the back of the car. the dealer told me that it was because of the spoiler. is it possible that it's the spolier? the spoiler looks like this one: 
he say that the reason why it made a lot of noises was the winds that goes between the gap of the car and spoiler....as you speed up, the noises goes up...is this true?...or there's something wrong with the car that he's just not telling me?...

I had that spoiler, too, and got rid of it (actually it sits on my cousin's 95 Golf, he liked it) in part because of wind noise. There is a newer design of course.

Just being cautious here but I'd dig through this forum and see if you really want to get into a 99 RX. It could be that the price is very attractive but if it were me I'd really consider only an 01-02 or later. And its not just RX's IMHO its really unwise to ever buy the first or second model year of ANY new vehicle. This is when all the bugs get exposed and by the third (sometimes fourth) model year the problems become far fewer. The RX series seems to be a sterling example of this phenomena.

I have that model with that spoiler and there's no noticeable wind noise. Is the rear hatch closing properly? Are the seals good? Do the rear doors close properly? Do the rear windows close properly? Are the door seals sealing? Are you sure its wind noise that you are hearing?

I am not sure what mph you all were going, but when I was in Mexico and took of the spoiler in early 2004, it was like night and day as far as road noise, but then again I would notice an issue 60+ mph.
