They matched the pattern so perfectly that I didn't see them until someone much younger with better eyes than mine pointed them out. Turns out that simply inserting a wide bladed screwdriver into a slot in the plug pattern and turning counterclockwise while gently lifting up on the footrest freed each post easily. No thanks to Lexus for being so stingy with information to help out in this situation! Thanks again code58 and carguy07.
Glad you got it bb- Like I said, I don't have the car here so I couldn't check it. I imagine the reason they just used push on square clips (holders) on the Camry is because it isn't as expensive a car. Although it is a very effective way to hold it and is very simple to remove.

Hi!

I'm cleaning the interior of my car and wish to remove the drivers' footrest! I'm struggling with how to remove it, even after turning plastic chevron type screws. Can anyone tell me how I'm meant to remove this without breaking anything?

Thank you!

My brother who is a mechanic says it should slide on over a flanged pillar. Help! Thank you.
On the 02 model if you look closely at the foot rest with a flashlight you will see two very well disguised quarter turn connector in the tread pattern, one near the bottom left and one at the top left. turn them and then pull it off. It might still take some force but it will come off.
