What would cause this? I was driving and the 4 ways came on and will not turn off even when the ignition is off. I ve checked all of the fuses and they are fine. I disconnected and re connected the battery and they stopped for about a minute and then started flashing again.. Thanks for any ideas or help.

UPDATE: Problem Solved. The hazzard switch itself was malfunctioning. Unplugged the switch and problem ended. Ordering a new one tommorrow.

Flasher get activated when:
The hazard triangle is pushed.
or security system is engaged.

I suspect the the last is malfunctioning.

Thanks for the reply, The triangle is not pushed. The lock system and key fob are working properly. I wonder if there is a way to de activate the security system to see if thats the problem?

Sorry, my last post was ambiguous. The Lock/unlock may work fine but the lock-unlock to flasher signal can be bad.

I do not have the electrical diagram to comment more.

As wild guess, [if this is a software problem] disconnect your battery for about 20 minutes and see if the problem goes away. You will loose all settings, except the key codes.

If not, I would suggest a visit to the dealer.

I found that the problem was in the hazard switch itself. When I unplugged the switch everything went back to normal. I ordered a new switch form an advertiser on this site and will hopefully have it installed soon. Thanks

I hope the switch IS the problem. Once again I wish I had the electrical diagram to check this out.

There is a slight possibility that by disconnecting the switch you are essentially removing sockets of each flasher.

Keep us posted.
