Default Troubleshooting

Hey guys so im at 95k now and i just recently did the whole 90k service, Timing Belt,All fluids drained & filled,Airfilter & wiper inserts. I also replaced both D-belts and PCV vavle. A few days later my check engine light came on. Even though i work at a Lexus Service Center im no mechanic only a parts guy, my step-dad fourtunetly is a Diagnostic Tech here we hooked the scan tool up and it turned out to be the gas cap was not tightened. Easy fix. But he did mention that if the light comes on again it could be the VSV valve and charcoal canister and even at my price its exepensive. So we plan on hooking the scan tool back up and hopefully its something like a cheap fix. Wish me luck!

It's rare for the VSV valve and charcoal canister. Gas cap issue I had once when I first got my RX and verified it at a Lexus dealer in Houston on the way down. I'd be interested in knowing what code was pulled off, P0171.

Ah that's right, only some counties in NOVA have it.

Actually 235-70-16 Michelin CrossTerrains. However, my uncle, father and I have been discussing it for sometime to switch the sidwalls to a 60 on the next set of tires.

My uncle and I have seen a lot of transfer case damage with AWD vehicles here, including the Murano of one of my friends, now that had some big tires. In addition, the lower rotational weight should improve acceleration and MPG. I am also taking a look at the tire weight. Right now Kumhos and Yokohamas interest me.
