My first time signing up as well and I know this thread is a little long in the tooth... But I just picked up a sweet 2000 RX300 and wonder how'd one go about this navigation conversion up to this point? I've seen some complete units on eBay, so is it a matter of straight swap with a possible map update option?

I have one spare DVD for NAV. If you have the monitor, it is a matter of putting a DVD and GPS antenna, and map disc.

Welcome to Club Lexus.

There have been many generations of GPS hardware over the years. Then maps have had many updates too. Just make sure you get the right hardware and the latest software matching the hardware. I would say at the end it will be more fun project that may not make financial sense. Just compare with stand alone or smart phone based NAV.

First let me say thanks for the welcome and replies guys!

Rosen71, so with the acquisition of the navigation monitor, DVD drive, and GPS antenna is the changeover direct-connect as far as wiring goes?

Thanks salimshah, I will note latest hardware and software when factoring into this endeavor.

Hi! I'm looking to do the same conversion for my rx300. Can you share with me the wiring diagram for the audio as well as ac controls?
