Has anyone had any problems with the A/C Clutch? I was told (by Lexus) that the bearings in mine are starting to bad and that I need to have it replaced (apx $700.00). Is that a resonalbe price and second has anyone else dealt with the A/c Cluthc before and what was your experience?

 

The only suggestion is to buy the parts and replace it yourself or by an independent garage.

To help all of us here (we all learn from each other), may be you can list the symptoms. Thanks

The local lexus dealer pulled the clutch and it looked good...so they decided that it was the compressor and not the clutch that was causing the vibration/loud idle...the bummer is that the compressor is 1200.00 to fix and is not essential to the car operating. So at this poitn unless anyone has any ideas I am just going to live with it.

 

AC compressor is not a "dealer fix only" item. AC specialist shops may be able to cut the bill down in half.

One has to look at the pocketbook, but the cost of repair will not go down in time and there is not much sense in being uncomfortable till the time you get the repairs done (that is if you eventually want it repaired)
