Default Trip computer

Does anybody know if there is any way to recalibrate the trip computer in a 2003 RX300? Mine used to be reasonably accurate but for the last month are so it has been showing about 32 MPG average when in fact it is getting about 23 MPG.

Try pulling the battery cables off.

Tehnically you can not "recalibrate". You can reset the computed (stored) values, by holding the mode button.

By disconnecting the battery, you zap away the sensor based adjutments, thus forcing your engine to re-learn.

Very interesting issue. I would reset the clock, drive aggressively and check it again. Post back please!
