Sorry for the "newbie" question but how does one gain access to replace the high stop light bulb that is located inside the rear glass? If it is by removing the narrow interior panel above the glass, how do you remove it without damage? Thanks in advance for your help.

The panel above the glass is held in by clips. No screws so there's nothing really to break (hopefully.)
Start on the right side near the edge of the panel and slowly pull it away. There will be resistance, but it's only clips - no screws. There are four clips and work the panel off slowly from right to left. Be gentle and the clips will release (or come out their grooves, but that's ok.)
The taillight lense will be visible. There are two plastic "tabs" on the bottom part of the lense. Don't press those and try to work it off from the bottom. Instead treat the tabs as hinges and simply push the lense down from the top (thus compressing the "tabs") and pull the top part of the lense out.
No need to disconnect wire from lense to replace bulb. Replace bulb and have a partner test brake light before reassembly. I used Sylvania 921 LL (long life).
Good luck.
[ I'm going by memory on the right to left part. I did mine left to right, but if I recall, the clip on the right is further away from the edge so it may be easier. But really either way is ok. ]
