Can anyone tell me how to easily remove the old one to install new bulb?

It is straight forward provided you have a right tool in removing the plastic plugs.
I used this -- it won't scratch the surrounding area and yet provide enough strength to pull the plugs out.

Pop off two clips each side and it's right there.

It's called a Plastic Fastener Remover or a Door Panel Removal Tool.

Installation is fairly simple, you could always refer back to your owners manual if you don't know. If you want to save some money, you could also use a flathead head screwdriver or a hammer, but that tool makes the job much easier. Hope this helps!

I recommend a good quality bulb, I changed mine out to an average LED off of amazon and it's not nearly as bright as OEM, looks much better but not great for visibility at night

Thanks to all for the feedback! I did it last night and was easy but would been easier with the suggested tool. I used a Swiss Army knife so that will work also.

What bulb can be purchased that is brighter than OEM? I find the OEM bulb not bright enough.

i never expected the reverse light to be used to improve rearwards visibility.
you should try the Philips LED 5W, 921 size.
One word review: AMAZING.

Crap. Sorry for the late response. I just used pliers to take out the plastic screws.
