Default Is this ok?

I am putting my mac mini where the cd changer used to be. I am wondering will there be any problems having it here?

Just so you know the thing to the left is the car pc power supply Looks like everything will be a nice fit!

Cars are hostile environment.

Heat:
In summer the insides can get hot and remain high 120F+ for hours.

Vibration:
Make sure you have rubber mountings to soften the shocks/vibes. A floating platform is ideal but hard to build. All screws must have lock washers or varnish on top to prevent being un-screwed. Harmonics may set in so the boards must not be of a certain length or must have tie downs (screws) at intermediate points.

Air flow:
Asthetics require things behind panels but pay attention to air flow.

Dust:
Lexus are pretty good, but dust does accumalate.

Bottom line: It is not impossible but a good deal of thought, research and money goes into mobile electronics.

I am new to Lexus, but not to computers and work in an IT department that has some of the Mini's.

The are cute, but to get the form factor that small, they really condensed things like the way a laptop is packaged. Because of this they generate heat and good airflow around them is critical.

If you shove that into that spot where the changer was and close the glovebox, I suspect it will overheat. You would need to make sure none of the vents on it are blocked and probably add a 12V fan and find a way to vent the area behind where the mini will go because it looks like it will be right up against something when installed. Even with this you want to keep an eye on the temperature.

Then of course there are the other environmental issues that were already mentioned.

Sure would be nice if it all works out.
