On my '99 RX300 the recirculate control is either on or turns itself on after I start the car up. I usually don't notice it until it starts feeling humid inside the vehicle. Is this normal or abnormal? I would prefer that the car recirc not be on unless I turn it on myself. IS there any fix for this?

I know that I could just hit AUTO when I start the car up but I don't....

Thanks,

Mike V

Default Recirc

The RX will automatically start in recirc mode whenever the air temperature control is in max cold position. Anything above and it will bring in ouside air.

I drive my '01 with the recirc 'ON', and what I did is to press the AUTO control which turns the recirc 'OFF' and then i just press the recirc button. I can adjust the temp and turn the RX off and back on with the controls staying where I left them. this may work different on other years, or something to talk to the service dept about.

Although its designed to work like that, you can change the sensitivity by doing the following. Turn the car on. Turn the climate contol system off. Press and hold the
"Recycle-Auto-Fresh air" button for a few seconds until you see a number pop up on your screen. Sensitivity can be adjusted now from a scale of -3(not sensitive) to +3 of very sensitive.
