Default Hideaway Key location

a) Do people use hideaway keys on their rx300?

b) Yes, I want to know where you keep it. The wheel wells are plastic, so I'm assuming the bumpers are my best bet. Other hints?

c) This issue appeared as I drive to the park sometimes to run. Well, the big key isn't exactly what I want on my waist drawstring. Right now I'm putting it on my shoe, but that's somewhat inconvenient and probably will break when I trip and fall.

So where can I hide the key for my run?

Wherever I hide it, I think it makes sense to use the valet key, so if someone does take my car, they won't get more than ?? miles. Of course, neither will I, so it's almost like I have to bring the normal key and keep that hidden inside the car. *sigh*

Boy I miss my old clunker - I never locked it. :-)

Default Hidden Key

I had a credit card key made for my RX. Keep it in my wallet. My valet key is in the holder by the drivers left knee.

I don't believe the valet key has any sort of distance restriction. All the manual says is that it won't open the glovebox lock.

On my IS, there's a funky looking key that clips in a card like holder. Don't you have that for the RX?

I would recommend you get a used key from ebay, program it to your car. Then cut off the blade since it was for another car. The transponder head should be light and small enough for jogging.

I put the valet key inside my tube sock when I jog. It won't fall out or get in the way.

Some jogging shorts or pants have a small hidden pocket in the waistband. You can use that, too.

I have a class 3 trailer hitch with a lexus cap. This is a great spot to hide a key on a temp basis.
