The RX HID's are optional.

Personally, I feel the HID's light up the road brighter than halogen lights; the projector beams on the '04/'05 RX produces a wide beam, though not as far.

The lights in the bumper are fog lights.

I've test driven an X5 during the day, so I can't tell you if the lights are brighter than the RX's.

To answer youy question about the HIDs in comparison to the X5, technically they are all the same. All OEM HIDs use 35W and 4100K (Some say 4300K) D2S or D2R bulbs. D2S are for projector type optics, so the RX330 and X5 both use D2S. So, technically they have the exact same poer output. The difference is the design of the projector optics. In this case, I think the X5 might have an advantage, but I can't state any scientific fact.

If you want the brightest Output, stick with 4100K, which will give u the most light output. If you browse around the internet or ebay, you might see higher temperature like 5000K, 6000K alll the way to 12,000K. Just keep in mind that Higher temperature doesnt' mean brighter output, you will get lesser light output the higher u go, and the higher it is it will become more blueish to more purple color. But here in the US 4100K is the only color that is Legal, so all cars that have Stock HID uses 4100K just like CK6Speed said. I believe you're not in the USA and is international so maybe you have different regulations in the place where you are at.

Oh yea, If you currently dont have HID's on your RX and plan to get HID, besides the HID bulbs, you need a ballast for the bulbs too. HID bulbs will not plug directly into your halogen plug like 9006 halogen. If you search the internet, they do sell "HID Conversion Kit", and this will enable you to change your halogen bulbs to HID.

Most Lexus HID's have a green tint in the lense itself. the bulb is not specificaly colored.

Lexus also makes some models with the green titned headlights without HID's (LX/GX/GS)

Congratulation, hope you'll enjoy your 2005 RX330. So what country are you buying your RX from?
To answer your question of how many HID colors are there, on my previous post, HID's comes in temperature of 4100K-12,000K and somtimes even higher.

which color is the powerful ?

Powerful? Well for The ones that come with your RX330 which uses 4100K gives you the most light output. (It's litterally not powerful, it actually uses less power then regular halogen, only at 35Watts but produces more light output then halogen).

Just do a search for HID on Googles, yahoo, etc. The information is very complex to explain. and from there, you'll be able to understand what's 41000K-12000K, and why it uses less power then halogen but with greater light output and so on.

Good Luck.

Hey BLUEMASKER,

I went to the website of Lexus United Arab Emirates and I notice something different about the RX330 over in UAE and the RX330 over Here in the US.

Exterior Features:

· Windshield glass with Lexus mark.

· Green rear, side and rear quarter glass with Lexus mark.

· HID (High Intensity Discharge) green headlamp with headlamp cleaners and auto levelling.

I guess you where right, the HID over in UAE are green. I guess this is because here in the US, we have very strict regulations compared to UAE. Here in the US, 4100K is the only legal HID we can have, and so the HID's color over here in the US is as white as a piece of paper. I believe the HID they used in UAE is probably 5000K, therefore giving it a slight green look.

Another thing I notice was that over in your country (UAE), you guys have a stronger engine compared to ours (US).

RX330, 5 speed automatic transmission, TIPTRONIC, (LX06035)

Performance:

· Engine - 3.3 litre, V6, DOHC, 24 valve, 3311cc, VVT-I, Unleaded with Catalytic Converter.

· Power - 252 hp/5600 rpm

· Torque - 35.7 kg-m/3600 rpm

· Transmission – 5-Speed Automatic Transmission, TIPTRONIC

Wow we only get 230hp here in the US.

http://www.lexus.com/models/rx/specifications.html ------> RX330 US Spec

http://www.lexusuae.com/english/specs.aspx?pageId=9578------> RX330 UAE Spec

Well, I just learned something new today.

TIPTRONIC? hmmm I wonder what is that.. I have no idea what is it. Does anyone know what is this?

Hi, I have the RX that comes with tiptronic gears. It is actually a gearbox system that allows the driver to select either fully automatic or manual with the gear. Most of the time, I have it on auto. The only time I have it on manual is when driving long distance when I need the sudden change of gear to overtake.
