I just had one put on two weeks ago. As far appearance goes, I like it a lot, you have to look for it to find it. Several people in my Corvette club have been using it for at least a year and swear buy it. That's a great recommendation from a Corvette owner, we tent to be a little proctive of our cars. That's the only reason I put it on my 330. I will be having this done to my wifes car and also my Corvette. I think it's a lot better than a bra. People have caused more harm than not with those things. With a regular bra you have to make sure that your car is well protected, clean and dry.

Good luck in your decission.

It's good for dark color cars. I saw a used RX300 with clear mask on my dealer's lot. The mask has turned slightly yellow. With dirt collecting on the seam, it looked obvious. At least it didn't have any stone chips.

I've seen them on light and dark cars, very hard to see on either one IMO. My RX is Breakwater Blue. I agree that you would have to be a little more careful when it comes to "waxing", I use Rejex and that does not leave any caking so I don't anticapate a problem here. My mask has a 7 year warranty against any defect in material or workmanship. I wonder if the one you saw had such a warranty and if it was transferable to the next owner.

The biggest drawback to the clear mask is the cost and that it's not a do-it-yourself project, you can get a regular bra for much less money. I did find it a PIA to use the regular bra in the proper way on other cars and ended up not using them at all.

I've had a "clear mask' (8mil 3M) on both my cars since I got them in late March. My '01 RX300 took a terrible beating on the hood from our dirty roads here and I'm determined to not go through that again. Both cars are silver and the mask is really almost inperceptable. I've also covered the lights (main and fogs) w/a 20mil 3M product. Both cars also have the lower bumper area and the mirrors covered in addition to the hood. From my perspective, it's a must.
