I was driving my 2 month old RX two days ago and I'm stopped at light talking on my phone and BAM some guy in a caravan nails me from behind. I must say I'm am amazed by the lack of damage to my car. I would say the guy hit me doin 15 or 20 and nothing but paint scatches and scratches to the bottom plastic bumper piece. The entire bumper held up even though my cell phone I was talking on flew into the windshield and the hat on my head flew off as well. As for me I have some back and neck pain but otherwise ok. I thank lexus quality.

Also, I got an estimate from I guy I used before he told me 425 for a new bumper painted. Anyone know if this is a good estimate??

 

Sorry to hear about your accident. I hope your injury is not serious. I really can’t tell you if that is a good price or not but some things you might want to keep in mind would be to make sure that he checks for any hidden damage behind the surface. Also, most people forget to include LOSS OF VALUE reimbursement in your claim. Since your car will have a record of an accident, it will not be worth as much at resale as one that was not in an accident. You are entitled to that loss of value.

I was hit a week before last Xmas by a drunk driver in a Chevy Tahoe. He was doing over 80 when he hit me at the stop light. My baby was in the shop for 9 weeks. She rides like new again. WHEW!

sorry to hear bout your accident! you might wanna shop around just to get some other numbers for that bumper...is it gonna be oem? or after market? sometimes after market doesn't fit as well...i just got in an accident over the weekend low speed (thank goodness) and mostly cosmetic damage to my lower plastic cladding...my rims are all scratched up now, tho! d*mmit...it coulda been worse, my 8yr old daughter was in the rx with me and she was sitting on the side of the impact but wasn't hurt at all so i'm not hating...
