I feel your pain along with the vast majority of the members. It never fails when you have a nice car you are trying to baby. A lady backed into my 2007 when it was 5 months old. I had my hand on the horn for 6 seconds and she stopped then floored it into me in a left turning lane while she was in reverse. Apparently, her cell phone call was more important than getting int the wrong lane and who knows. Bottom line, your bumper will be repainted. I would tell the adjuster on the opposing insurance that you want no bonding and you want a new bumper. That way, they will cut you a higher amount check and you can simply have it repainted and keep the difference for your troubles.

Sorry about the hit, glad nobody was badly hurt. Driving in urban areas does expose our cars to considerable risk of this type of damage, just a fact of life.

You should opt for a new bumber instead of repaint. That way you won't have to worry about the repainted bumber ever fading and showing blemishes in a few years. A new painted bumber should be about $600-$700.
