Default Power Button

Hey fellas,

I just picked up a 00 RX300 AWD.. it has that pwr button/snow. When I have the PWR button swtiched on, does it waste more gas than when its off?? The car seems to pick up better with it on, also, will it do harm to my car if i left it on? thanks

The power-mode holds the shift points longer for each gear for improved acceleration. Yes, holding the shift points higher each time will increase fuel consumption, but how much is determined by your right foot. Push harder and you will have even higher shift points whether or not the ETC is in power-mode or not.

No harm if left on, simply shifts at a different rev range.

Some folks in the LS forum were talking about this earlier this year. Check it out by clicking here if you'd like to see what others think.
