Question RX300 window problem

I have 2001 RX300 and passenger's window just stoppped working. Before that if I opened it just a little bit, I had to open it all the way before I could close it. Now it is fully open an I can hear clicks when I try to close it.
Any suggestions what the problem it can be?
Will the parts from Toyota Highlander fit if it Right front window switch or lifting mechanism?
Thank you!

lkho,

Sounds like the lifting mechanisum or the motor itself. Less likely it is the switch or electronics.

If you are inclined to work on it yourself, I would first pull off the inner door panels and inspect the mechanisum to see if there is any obvious damage/jaming/wearing, etc.

Noit sure about the Highlander parts, but I would think they are the same. you can always take the motor assembly into a Toyota dealer parts depoartment and see what they say or can physically patch up. Personnely I would go with the Lexus part or specific aftermarket part just to be sure it works correctly.

Thumbs up Window problem - switch!

Wao! You are good! You gave me more info than I could expect, even schema.
Now the door is apart and problem has been detected, it is a window switch.
I checked the price at the dealership - $316.00 just for the part! I went to my favorite website for parts
www.car-parts.com and bought it for $125 .00, new . It should arive soon.

Thanks a lot for your reply,
Lev.

P.S. I just found this part on Ebay - $15 !!! Kind late....

IKHO:

If your RX is a 2001, why don't you simply take it to the dealership to repair? The factory warranty probably covers this repair, unless you exceeded the mileage clause.

I recently had the exact problem with my '01 RX passenger window. The dealer told me it was a known issue. They first replaced the master switch but that didn't solve the problem. Then they changed the pass. door switch and all is well. I have to say the process took several visits to the dealer but it finally worked out.
