Default Has anyone separated the seat heating

on a 99 RX 300. I would like to be able to turn on seat heater individually. Current situation is drivers seat OR driver and passenger seat. Seems to me I should be able to disengage driver side heat wires from the driver/passenger switch therefore making the two switches act as individuals. Anyone tried this yet? I see on the Alldata TSB # B0004-00 in June 00 mentions " Interior- SeparateSeat Element Installation"....know about this? Thanks

Your question would be better answered directly from a Lexus service tech.

The single seat heater switch vs. dual switch is what I understand to be the primary difference in the early production rx300 of '99 and later models.

I am unaware of any post manufacturing mod available through Lexus short of having wiring harness changed.

Try going to Lexus and asking one of their more senior techs.

Good luck,

Fern

On a related note, is there any way to replace the 2000 model year on/off switch with the later years' multiple-stage heating switch?
