Default Firewall Location for Amplifier Power Wire

I need to run a 4 awg power wire for an amplifier, but don't see any convenient locations to pass through the firewall. For those of you with aftermarket amps, where through the firewall did you route the power wire? Any photos would be appreciated. Thanks!

There's a grommet that you can use. Check my video for technique used. Bigger gauge wire of course, but should be the same concept.

It’s funny that you responded. I was researching wheel spacers last night and watched your video about them. Today, a few of your other videos popped up on my YT feed and I watched the one about mud guards. I subscribed. 👍

Thanks for linking your video! I used that same grommet in my previous RC350. But I’ve since read that puncturing the grommet like that may lead to water intrusion/rust, so I was wondering about other options. Any problems so far for you using that grommet?

Thanks for the sub and the views! Feel free to binge on the channel 😃

Theres always a risk involved. But the key is to make it no bigger than it has to be to ensure a tight fit.

Followed the same technique on my g37 and had 0 issues. I even used some sealant to further seal any voids.

If you really want to be cautious, put the puncture at the side or under the grommet. This reduces the risk of water running down vertically with the line. Additionally, water dripping in at all.

I have 0 issues and and never have. Hope this helps.

I believe there’s an extra provision for either a cable or something just to the left of the two arrows pointing up. It may be hidden/wrapped with electrical tape. The hood latch cable is routed through the same provision at the bottom of the grommet. Here’s a couple pictures of my IS F when I routed a wire for my foglight bypass wire. RC F should have that too. This is on the driver’s side but passenger side should be the same. Just punch a small hole, smaller than the wire and then feed the wire through. Good idea to make a drip loop on the wire where it comes out of the firewall.

Will definitely watch some more of your videos (I opted for 15mm spacers instead of 20 based on your video).

Yeah - I've used a similar method in previous installs without any problems. But I guess I'm just a little more paranoid with the RC F. Good suggestion with the sealant - I'll use that. Thanks!

I'll look for that provision in the grommet and make use of a drip loop (great idea). Thanks!
