Stick with OEM you gain nothing at best going with an expensive filter. The oiled filters are terrible poor filtration and contaminate the air flow sensor.

Not entirely true (though, partially). I have had a AFE Power Stage 2 cold air intake that came with an oiled K&N velocity stack. The oiled filter (K&N) still catches 98% of the contaminants as opposed to 99% for the dry while the higher airflow offered by oiled one gives some added benefits. Once it needs to be cleaned and oiled again, one has to be careful of the procedure since putting excessive oil can cause the MAF sensor to get damaged. I ran Injen oiled cold air intake on my Corolla XRS for 15+ years (and still has it). Never any issues. Just had to be careful cleaning it once a year.

I have had one for 2+ years and no issues. There is a very distinct midrange growl that is very pleasing (between 4000 rpm and 5500 rpm especially under high load) and there is some decent midrange torque that is felt with it.

I had an AFE dry filter on my ISF and now I have an oiled filter on my RCF.....I found no significant diffrence in anything. It's a drop in filter so don't waste too much time over thinking it.

Sounds like you really like the intake?

Yeah, no complaints. I have had it for 2 years now and I did not buy it with high expectations. Just wanted a bit growl from the intake especially under load as in, high gear/low rpm (without disconnecting the vacuum line to the airbox). Also, gives a punchier midrange. Top rpm HP is hard to tell, but again my expectation was to get a slightly improved airflow than stock airbox so I am happy.
