I have no known problems with the K&N filter... Have cone type, but my engine is force fed... Also can't give you any impressions on sound quality because the turbo acts as a muffler

Get the K&N.....
I'm using a cone K&N attached to an adapter plate... I have always used K&N in our cars 300ZX N/A and TT, 98 Vette, Mustang, Karmann Ghia... etc K&N have been in the hi-flow filter business for years and is look at as being #1 for quality and results...
I'm sure there are other good filters that may look better, but are you looking for results or looks??? As for oiling the filters the competition's units are oiled type filters too... The process is quite simple any way. I've also found that the SC's don't get a lot of debris under normal conditions, thank to the dust panel under the engine bay... If another company produces a better filter, come and prove it and I will by one...
Also consider an entire intake unit... SRT, RMM makes one, or you can customize one for about 1/10th of the cost of buying one... Also you can make a heat/dust shield... Check out the "Exhaust HP/Sound Gains" thread for more info...
Good luck!!!
