Lexus using the same facelifted mirrors throughout models? IS500 CF question.
Figured I'd ask incase anyone here works at a dealer or knows for certain.
I was on the IS group and saw that Lexus does in fact make a top portion for the mirror caps that are genuine OEM CF. It appears that the IS uses the same mirrors as the face lifted RCs....
Currently the face lifted versions are black on the top mirror cap. This is the only CF item I'd actually like to add on the car. The rest just stick out too much to me (spoiler, spliter, on an otherwise all white car.) I am not a fan of the caps that are "M" copies, they look like an after thought to me.
Part numbers are: PT96753212 - Left PT96753211 - Right
States they are for IS300-350 2021/2022.
IF these fit the RC/RCF. it would be a really nice add on to the track editions since they already have a lot of CF.
The mirrors look identical to me though.

Anyways. I figured I'd give it a go. Anyone remove the top of the mirror caps? I read that it's just a single screw but I wanted to make sure before buying since they are not cheap and I'd rather not get stuck with an item that I can't use. Local dealer is of course saying not compatible at all....lol But they also said that with the credit card key that works 100% with my car.
these look great. saw this topic on fb too, i think it was mentioned at $499 per side. if it was a replacement and not a cap i'd consider. as a cap, i'll pass. my luck would be the cap somehow flies off at speed and scratches something. lol. prob not likely to happen but never know.
Yep that's where I saw it too! Didn't even realize it was a thing. They are pricey for sure but any OEM carbon piece is gonna be expensive. I have no interest in a rep or other manufacture.. most of the time it just isn't great quality considering what one spends for it. So far I have found these for around $420 each. I think depending on when sales happen you could save up to 15% off via OEM parts. Many dealerships run that. I know I got an email at christmas from Belle Lexus since I bought stuff from them before, they were offering 15% off all OEM parts/accessories. I kicked myself slightly for not waiting to buy the credit card key but I had already bought it from them.
Yep they shouldn't come off at all. It's held in with a center screw and clipped into the housing. Cap meaning it's the top portion of the mirror, not something that just sticks on like the cheap ebay/amazon ones. This is an OEM part that replaces the black top portion of our mirror that is also held in with one center screw and then clipped into the housing. So this would never fly off or come off short of someone physically hitting the mirror and breaking it.
Taken from the IS thread:
I think I'm probably slightly bored, so trying to find something to do to the car. I would however like way more to get power folding mirrors but no one is getting any type of part numbers which is super disappointing. People keep posting that they upgraded to the face lifted mirrors which cost $900-$1000.. and I'm sure the power folding mirrors are slightly higher than that but, at least we'd have the power folding features. I'm still 100% to being the test person on getting it to work... I just need info or help from someone that is in another country that has left hand drive RCF.
I'll have to add pictures here at the end of the week but I added GS/GSF OEM inner door cup ambient lighting. It's a nice little touch and Raymond posted it on FB. Heck that was $120 for two little led modules and harnesses that I ended up cutting up just for the two end connectors.

that's better then, i misunderstood 'cap' for overlay but yeah these would not fly off. unless there's some funky camera setting where it reverses things, the oem cf weave for rcf's with factory cf goes the other direction. it looks like the weave is kind of in the right direction when the mirrors are folded. just an observation. that mismatch would bother me but i like those caps.
I am interested in this as well, let me know what you find out
I took my covers off and they match identically to the CF ones, I ordered from Belle Lexus so hope to have them next week. I'll take pictures once I get them. The back portion as the exact same tabs, screw location as what I am looking at for my black one. This is going to be 100% plug and play/ compatible.
If lexus was smart they'd list these under other models as an upgrade. Appears the IS, RC, LC can from around 2019-2022 can take these top mirror caps. You replace the black ones that come with the mirrors.
My dealer said 710.40 each plus tax lol I'm going to ask if they will price match
Jesus. Your dealer is marking up parts then. Retail on them is $525 each side. The cheapest I've seen them is $420 each. I was the one that took the pictures of the red IS that the OP posted above, and the fitment is great so the price is worth it imho, but not at $710. Thats ridiculous.
I was going to order them off Belle from eBay but you pay tax and shipping. Where if you order them from Belle directly they don't charge you tax and you can use "SHIPLEXUS" and get free shipping over $100 order.
You can install these yourself. Pop the mirror out then undo one screw. Then the top cap slides forward from towards the front end of the car. Very easy to do. I wouldn't have the dealer do it, more than likely they are going to break a tab or two on the caps.
ALL: We NEED to freaking get a facelifted POWER MIRROR thread going......... seriously. This is ridiculous that this isn't a thing yet. I paid $800 for mirror caps yet still can't find power folding mirrors from the EU or a LHD country...smh.

I've ordered from them before. Not bad of a price. Anymore though I order through Belle Lexus. I'm in VA and they are all the way in AZ. Either Joe or Dan are great. You can call them and talk and they will be more than helpful when either looking for a part or know exactly what you are talking about, and get you the correct item.
For example my dealer wouldn't help much with the credit card key for my 2020. They said it couldn't be done and if I did buy it from them there was no guarantee that they could even get it to work with the car. Pretty much saying "we can order this for you but it's up to you on if you are OK with losing $250".. after I just paid $70k for a brand new car.
I called Belle and Joe was more than helpful. They got me the correct credit card key and I used techstream to program it. I have also asked odd ball questions and they are more than helpful getting the answers to me. I'm OK with paying slightly more knowing that they have people like that employed. It's actually reassuring talking to someone that knows wtf they are talking about..lol. :-)
Parts are on order (I ordered other things as well for my wife's NX and also a spare ultra white mirror housing since I broke the one tab off of the black cap. (I keep all stock parts, so figured if I ever go back or sell these I'll have fully functional caps and not something that is held in with some adhesive..lol)
