I am having a tough time with my local parts department, I've asked them to see what they can do on price matching Lexus stuff.. I don't see why it's so complicated but whatever, the internet makes it easy to get the best prices these days

 

Arrived finally.

Are you planning to put clear bra on it? I'm tempted to get a set myself.

 

I might clear bra it but honestly at the moment no. I should have bought the material before hand then do it.

EDIT: I ended up buying some xpel for the headlights and mirrors...lol. Headlights are precut, and I ordered 3ft for the mirror tops. Figure I will mess up at least once.

Installed. I like it. Only exterior cf mod I'm doing.

Looks good! Welcome to the club..lol No one is gonna notice the pattern of the weave either other than you and us who know..hahaha. These should have come stock on the track editions and carbon packages.... it's crazy how stingy lexus/toyota can be with certain things on when as a whole looks really good as a package.

You'd think Lexus would make sure to follow the weave . I agree, they should come standard with the track edition and CF packages! They look awesome nonetheless

 

^ I agree! BUT, I think they should orient the weave so that each mirror faces the direction pointings towards the car.
IE: Passenger
side mirror- \\\ |HOOD| ///-driver side mirror

Lexus/Toyota are so goofy at times. It really makes me wonder who is signing off on stuff there and is like "YES, go with it!"

I was also a bit disappointed after seeing that the weaves don’t go the same direction as the lexus cf hood, roof, and rear spoiler. Even aftermarket Japanese CF parts match the Lexus factory weave direction. I bet if these were made by Lexus Japan, the weaves would’ve matched. My guess is they are made by an aftermarket company contracted by Lexus USA, mainly for the IS500, and overlooked that detail.

 

Does the IS500 have a carbon roof for these to match up to?

Probably one reason they aren't being advertised for the RCF is my guess.

 

I don't think the is500 came with the cf roof or even on the launch edition. I believe they had other CF accessories including the rear spoiler for the trunk and I think a couple other smaller items.

You are probably right on the non advertisement. They should change it in their system... they'd probably sell more if people knew they fit other mirrors. But since the LC, RC, IS, pretty much use the same mirror we can all use them which is nice.

Obviously not OEM but they are bolt-on and appear to be real carbon fiber, not a cover like the other cheap ebay ones that were mentioned. Is the M style a giveaway that these are non-OEM?

 

I bought mine from ebay as well (CF mirror caps) for the 2015 - 2019 RCF mirrors. They are pretty good. CF quality especially for the price was excellent. Similar to the one in the link you put. No complaints.
